Conversation history managed in-session via JSON in PHP $_SESSION
Streaming responses piped to the frontend for a real-time feel
Rate limiting and abuse guards baked into the proxy layer

WHY I BUILD IT THIS WAY

Direct API gives full control — no third-party widget lock-in or branding constraints
Server-side proxy keeps API keys secure and lets me log, filter, and throttle
Custom system prompts make the AI a domain expert for each specific site context
